El Laboratorio para la Ciudad es un espacio fundado y dirigido por Gabriela Gómez Mont y creado el 12 de febrero del 2013 por decreto del Jefe de Gobierno de la Ciudad de México Miguel Ángel Mancera Espinosa, con el objetivo de  crear diálogos entre gobierno y sociedad civil para generar soluciones creativas a problemáticas especificas haciendo uso de la tecnología y la innovación social. Por medio del Laboratorio para la Ciudad se busca que los ciudadanos no solo opinen, sino que participen activamente en el desarrollo de soluciones postulando ideas y proyectos relacionados al medio que habitan. En la página se pueden encontrar diversas convocatorias para talleres, conferencias y seminarios vinculados con industrias creativas, makers o innovación ciudadana, entre otros.

The Laboratorio para la Ciudad (Laboratory for the City) is Mexico City’s new experimental office for civic innovation and urban creativity, the first city government department of its kind in Latin America. The Lab is a space for rethinking, reimagining, and reinventing the way citizens and government can work together towards a more open, more livable and more imaginative city.
