Acerca Primero de Mayo/Enlace de Pueblo
Primero de Mayo/Enlace del Pueblo se compromete a la construcción de movimientos sociales mediante el impulso del uso estratégico y el control colectivo de la tecnología para las luchas locales, la transformación global, y la emancipación sin fronteras. Sobre la base de esa misióne, nuestra organización redefine el concepto de “Proveedor de Servicios de Internet” de un modo colectivo y colaborativo. Como cualquier otra organización donde l@s miembros conviven de manera democrática, nosotr@s nos reunimos cada año para evaluar nuestra experiencia, planear el trabajo del siguiente año y eligir un Comité de Dirección que llevará a cabo aquello que hemos decidido. Como una cooperativa, pagamos cuotas, compramos equipo y luego compartimos ese equipo de acuerdo con nuestras necesidades para hospedar sitios web, recursos de correo electrónico y listas de correo y casi todo lo que hacemos en Internet. Movimiento
Primero de Mayo/Enlace del Pueblo es un miembro de la Media Action Grassroots Network, la Asociación para el progreso de las comunicaciones, el Foro Social y participa activamente en el Foro de Izquierda, la Conferencia de los medios de comunicación aliados, el movimientos cooperativo mexicano e internacional, coaliciones de movimiento y otras reuniones. Estamos comprometidos a la construcción de movimientos por la transformación global y emancipación.
Binacional
Primero de Mayo/Enlace del Pueblo es binacional, con sede en los Estados Unidos y México. Nuestro Comité de Dirección, eligido por los miembros, se extrae de ambos países que nos permiten construir una visión estratégica con una perspectiva internacional que coincide con el potencial de movimiento como continuamos desarrollando oportunidades de comunicación que cruzan fronteras.
Membresía
Sobre 800 miembros de Primero de Mayo/Enlace del Pueblo pagan cuotas para apoyar nuestro trabajo. Un beneficio importante de la membresía es el acceso a nuestra web de primera clase, correo electrónico y otros servicios de alojamiento, basados completamente en software libre y de código abierto, endurecido para defenderse contra negación de servicio y con una trayectoria de lucha corporativa y gobierno solicitudes de datos.
