The Crowdfunding Platforms Association (known as AFICO by its initials in Spanish) is a civil

partnership gathering crowdfunding platforms based in Mexico as a means of encouraging

information exchange, communication, setting best practices and promoting this particular

fundraising model. The association’s founding members are Crowdfunder, Fondeadora,

Ideame, Kubo Financiero, Micochinito and Prestadero. They have also partnered up with

other associations, such as: Affluenta, Brig.mx, Doopla, Hipgive, Iventure, Pitchbull Funding,

Multicredi, Playbusiness, Trebol Capital and YoTePresto.com. AFICO’s board is formed by

representatives of each platform. Their main goals include certification, lobbying for

regulations, representation, developing a code of ethics with the associated platforms,

transparently managing the association’s funds, as well as promoting and raising awareness

of crowdfunding activities. AFICO has a blog on crowdfunding topics, with clear descriptions

of how each platform works, what their goals are and how they are set up.
