Description
Fintech Mexico develops mobile technologies to promote and facilitate financial platforms such as crowdfunding, electronic wallets and online banks. It was started in Mexico in 2015 by Jorge Ortiz, who proposed bringing together businesses and organizations to work on solutions and goals towards the development of financial technologies (fintech). Their goals include: creating laws and regulations to facilitate the creation of fintech tools and activities, educating the public and encouraging the technology’s use and importance, development, research and networking for the support of institutions and parties involved.
One common issue these companies face is a lack of trust in online finance due to people’s fear of scamming and fraud when providing confidential information. By setting up regulations and developing better security measures, businesses can increase user’s trust in conducting financial transactions on their mobile devices.
With the advent of mobile technology, Mexico and Latin America have great potential for growth in financial technologies, hence the initiative’s goal of fostering regional companies into creating and developing new forms of digital transactions.
