Chip Chap is a Spanish money converter created in 2015, using a system called “Bank Card”, providing the option of buying bitcoins with a credit card anywhere in the world, which they explained on their Facebook page on August 14, 2015. They posit their service is very simple: you select an amount of bitcoins (the system will show the equivalent in euros), enter the address the bitcoins will be sent to, then pay for your purchase on your mobile phone through a secure retailer.
Although the app is still in beta testing, users can buy bitcoins with a 3D security protocol for Visa and Mastercard, notifying Chip Chap of any errors, thus committing to service improvement.
So far, team Chip Chap have tested their card in Europe, Russia and the US, although the card is limited to these areas. According to Vincent Nos Ripolles, Chip Chap’s CEO, the card can be used anywhere in the world, at any business accepting Visa and Mastercard. As per Chip Chap’s website, their payment system can be used in over 400,000 stores worldwide.
This can all be achieved from the comfort of your mobile phone through the Android app they’ve created and an internet connection. Chip Chap allows cash withdrawals from any bitcoin ATM. In the case of Spain and Poland, for example, once users have exchanged their money under their preferred payment system, the Android app will show a network of available ATM’s that accept the cash withdrawal voucher. As a digital money converter, Chip Chap works with such a wide array of vouchers and payment methods, (including Paysafe Card, FairCoin, HalCash, Ukash, Paynet and other) they call themselves agnostics, as far as payment methods go. Whenever users opt for the cash-in and cash-out system, they will also have the Bank Card available as a payment method. Chip Chap offers security measures for those who are still on the fence regarding these types of payment systems, by complying with FATF/GAFI regulations, as well as those of each country. Chip Chap also guarantees their transactions with advanced encryption, decentralized technologies and anti-bots.
