The Portal de la Gaceta de Solicitudes de Patente de Uso Libre e Invenciones del Dominio Público [Gazette for Free Use Petent Applications and Public Domain Inventions] allows for advanced searches in all numbers of the Gazette. The platform is developed by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), with the aim of providing information to small, medium-sized and large companies whose growth can be benefited thanks to the technology made available in the public domain.

The Gazette contains information on 'free-ware' patents, both national and international, in matters such as industrial design, utility models or layout designs of integrated circuits. International applications were processed in accordance with the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) on patents whose proceedings couldn't be completed for different causes, therefore becoming part of the public domain.

Access to information contained in the technical reports of the published patent applications and records, is personally facilitated at the Divisional Branch of  Technological Information Services (SDSIT), directly at their office located in Xochimilco, Mexico City, by telephone, or e-mail. If your are in the interior of the Mexican Republic, you can request searches in Regional Offices or in Federal Delegations of the Secretary of Economy.

The website allows access to newsletters published from August 2013 to the present date. This includes a wide range of patents with title, name of the applicant, application number and classification. Patents have been published of a wide range of, inventions such as: non-volatile pigment powder, detergents, covers for beverage cans with articulated nozzle, methods for the treatment of textiles, a device for the treatment of hair with heat, among many other titles.
