La Biblioteca Virtual de las Letras Mexicanas coordinada por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) e integrada en la Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes nace de la cooperación académica, científica, investigadora y cultural entre la Fundación de la Biblioteca Virtual y varias de las instituciones mexicanas culturales más importantes, como la Biblioteca Nacional de México, la Academia Mexicana de la Lengua, la Universidad Iberoamericana, El Colegio de México, la Universidad de Guadalajara, el Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey y el Centro de Estudios de Historia de México Carso.(http://www.letrasmexicanas.mx/)

Description

The Virtual Mexican Literature Library (Biblioteca Virtual de Letras Mexicanas) is an access portal to a literary archive, catalogued by public and private institutions in Mexico dedicated to the preservation of knowledge. The project is managed in collaboration with the Mexican National Library (Biblioteca Nacional de México), the Mexican Language Academy (Academia Mexicana de la Lengua), the Center for Mexican History Studies (Centro de Estudio de HIstoria de México). CARSO Group, the College of Mexico (Colegio de México), Monterrey Tech (Tecnológico de Monterrey), the University of Guadalajara (Universidad de Guadalajara) and the Ibero-American University (Universidad Iberoamericana). The project is also integrated into, but functions autonomously from the Miguel de Cervantes Virtual Library (Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes).

Each institution is linked through an access portal to its collections, where you can refer to the country’s most relevant book heritage on various themes and areas of interest, such as manuscripts, Mexican and European print, historical records and educational textbooks for specialized studies in different levels and fields. The catalogue includes authors from different literary periods, such as Ignacio Manuel Altamirano, as well as signature libraries from authors like Amado Nervo, Homero Aridjis, Juan Villoro, Ramón López Velarde and Sister Juana Inés de la Cruz.
