Esta plataforma es el sitio oficial de Datos Abiertos del Gobierno de la República. Los datos e información en datos.gob.mx son tus datos. Datos Abiertos son aquellos datos digitales con las características técnicas y legales necesarias para que cualquiera, en cualquier lugar y momento, los pueda usar, reusar y distribuir libremente. Además, datos.gob.mx está disponible en código abierto un repositorio público.
Los datos abiertos permiten que los gobiernos, ciudadanos, las organizaciones de sociedad civil y el sector privado, tomen decisiones mejor informadas. El acceso oportuno a los datos ayuda a individuos y organizaciones a desarrollar nuevos conocimientos e ideas innovadoras que pueden generar beneficios sociales y valor económico, para el bienestar de las personas.
La iniciativa de Datos Abiertos es parte de un movimiento global que va más allá de la transparencia y rendición de cuentas, promoviendo el uso de información pública para mejorar el diseño de políticas públicas, y fortalecer los espacios de debate y participación ciudadana. Description
This platform is the official site of Open Data of the government of Mexico. Its purpose is to serve the Open Data Decree facilitating the access, use, reuse and redistribution of public information. The Decree is part of the PGCM (http://www.gob.mx/sfp/acciones-y-programas/programa-para-un-gobierno-cercano-y-moderno-pgcm Program for a Close and Modern Government) 2013-2018 and the National Digital Strategy of the government of President Enrique Peña Nieto. The portal is part of the initiatives undertaken as part of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) in which Mexico participates. The OGP implemented a plan to encourage open data policy in Mexico and established an advisory council to assess the demand and supply of data and strengthen ties between government and civil society to ensure the effectiveness of the strategies implemented.
The tools section facilitates the consultation of data in areas such as health, geography, security, environment, education or economy, with maps and statistics that show demographic events and phenomena such as: maternal mortality, natural disaster assessment, criminal incidence, insured of the Mexican Institute of Social Security, basic education or poverty indicators. The public, in turn, can consult on the site the stories that use the data to know and prevent phenomena or problems such as storms, delinquency, migration or social development.
It is important to develop applications to facilitate the use of data. For example: Mexico's digital map, the Geographic Information System that contains natural and cultural statistical data of the country, the Statistical Directory of Economic Units DENUE, the interactive map of federative entities and the CONEVAL application that allows access to data on poverty and evaluation of social programs that are carried out at the national or local level.
