El portal Transparencia Presupuestaria es el resultado de un compromiso asumido por la [http://gobabiertomx.org/alianza-mexico/ Alianza para el Gobierno Abierto en México] desde septiembre de 2012, con la intención de promover proyectos que favorezcan la transparencia y datos abiertos para el desarrollo, la disposición de estos datos en la plataforma responde al Estándar Internacional de Datos Presupuestarios Abiertos. El proyecto consiste en facilitar información y ponerla a disposición de la ciudadanía mexicana acerca de cómo, dónde, quién y para qué se gastan los recursos públicos. La plataforma web cuenta con una serie de proyectos en los cuales podemos visualizar y descargar los datos abiertos en relación a los egresos de los años 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 , 2016 y 2017 por Entidad Federativa. Estos planes de seguimiento del gasto público se presentan en el portal como: obra pública abierta, infraestructura educativa, seguimiento a los recursos transferidos a los Estados, sistema de evaluación del desempeño e infografías. El portal web http://www.transparenciapresupuestaria.gob.mx es una iniciativa de la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público (Secretaría) quien pone a disposición del público a través del mismo, información, herramientas y materiales útiles para aquellos sujetos interesados en la consulta y el análisis del ejercicio, destino y resultados de la aplicación de los recursos públicos.

El acceso al portal web es totalmente libre y gratuito, los usuarios no deberán registrarse para acceder al mismo; sin embargo, la consulta de la información y los materiales así como el uso de las herramientas en él disponibles implican el consentimiento por parte de los usuarios a estos términos y condiciones.

La información, herramientas y materiales contenidos en el portal web son propiedad de la Secretaría quien autoriza a los usuarios su utilización y reproducción total y/o parcial, de manera gratuita, para fines académicos, de investigación, análisis o cualquier otro similar.
