Nigerians the Change Mantra of Misunderstood APC

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, tHE Minister of Information and Culture, yesterday said that the Change mantra was mostly misunderstood by Nigerians and won the 2015 presidential election.

Speaking in a stakeholders' meeting with the Executive Council of the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN), Mohammed stated that though the party campaigned using change mantra, it's been taken by Nigerians to mean that as soon as Buhari was sworn in, the next day, things would change completely in Nigeria.

The minster kept that Nigerians must comprehend that things do not occur this way because the country cannot continue to be doing things the exact same way and anticipate a different outcome.

"Yes, we all know what the ills are; corruption, indiscipline... but it's not limited to individuals on top. Each one of us has a function to play," he said.

According to him, it is the reason the Buhari-headed government is coming up with the 'Change Begins with You Campaign'.

"The malaise crippling the fabric of the society now, 'everybody is guilty," he noted.

The Minister noted that an average Nigerian, given the slightest opportunity, would cheat, noting that corruption cuts across gender, age and professions in the nation.

"Nigeria cannot satisfactorily account for the lives that was lost just because some pharmacists decided to adulterate drugs. We can't quantify how many lives we have lost due to the danfo drivers that wake up in the morning before hitting the road to drink paraga. Many of the traffic bottleneck in Nigeria today is on account of indiscipline," he said.

In moving forward, he solicited for the partnership of members of ADVAN, particularly in carrying out a number of its campaign and election promises to Nigeria, to which the President of ADVAN, Mr. David Okeme, vowed its members unalloyed support.

In his answer, Okeme promised that his members would support government attempts because companies want a great state to boom.

"It's in the best interest of business to make sure things are working well for the indices to be looking up," he said.

He nevertheless, advised the government to copy a few of the models being deployed by corporate businesses particularly in the area of behavioral change.

With the essential, one is able to type the three official languages, Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba and other six recognised languages which are Effic, Idoma, Hausa/Fulani, Tiv, among others."

According to her, one reason for her choice of keys is the amount of people in a special ethnic and their passion to talk their dialect "such language is Urhobo people, they're very passionate about writing their language, so I have incorporated their keys, though they mightn't be a part of the so called recognise languages, since they want to do something with their language."

NAILANGS computer keyboard, which will be virtual, is available on all platforms including Google Playstore, iOS shop and Window (Desktop) for downloads.

Dissatisfaction was expressed by her in the rate where Nigerians use their dialect as a secondary language rather than primary language. According to her, "Coming back to Nigeria from the united kingdom in the last one month has been an eye opener, while the children over there are itching to talk our languages, whether is Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba,I find it very painful that I've come to Nigeria and the Children are not being believed our own language."
